Gourds
By Artist Kim Black | Beaver Meadow ArtsMy designs are first drawn on the gourd, then wood burned. I will often use carving to add texture to a design as well. The application of color comes next, using one or a combination of transparent ink dyes, metallic and acrylic paints. Sometimes I add gold leaf, inlaid stones or glass, conchos, pine needles or other botanicals as design elements. The possibilities are endless and each piece is unique.
